Since we only had about 550 miles left to get to Tuscaloosa, AL, we got to sleep in a bit. We hit the road at about 7:30AM, which would have put us getting into Tuscaloosa around 4PM. Once we arrived, right on time, we checked into the rooms, got settled in and met up with the family. Dad and Luann ordered pizzas to be delivered to Mary-Margaret and Eric's house and we all headed to Northport.
Saturday was a day filled with fun activities. We went to the rehearsal luncheon. The kids had southern fried catfish for the first time. Zachary called his great-grandmother, Esther, a "crazy woman". And the kids goofed off with Papa Queen and GiGi.
After the luncheon, we went back to the hotel and the kids went for a swim. Saturday night, Mary-Margaret had a "ladies only" gathering. We went to a nice little italian restaurant for a few appetizers, Mary-Margaret received lots of gifts for Eric to enjoy, and we said our well wishes to her on her last night as a single gal. After the lingerie party, Rob, the kids and I trekked through town to find a dinner joint. There are tons of places in Tuscalossa to eat, but the waits were a bear!
Sunday morning we joined my mom and step-dad, Grandma Jenny and Papa George to the kids, for breakfast. After eating, we went to a park for the kids to get out some of their energy. The had fun on the swings with Grandma Jenny and showed off for the camera with some group hug photos.
The kids went swimming again prior to going to the wedding. One way to get them to behave is to wear them out :-) The wedding was beautiful and the kids were great. Jonathan and Megan helped with the guest book and programs, and Megan caught the bouquet! I think we have MANY years before that one will tie the knot!
